Evansville Town Hall: Mayor Talks Increased Sewer Rates, Travel to Japan

Evansville Mayor Lloyd Winnecke talked about the city's proposed 28-year plan to raise sewer rates to the tune of $540 million. The extra money will help pay for more than $500 million dollars in sewer improvements mandated by the Clean Water Act. He said this is less costly than federal government's proposal. The Water and Sewer Utility would like to raise rates by 32 percent next year and another 8 percent in 2015, and 18 percent in 2016.

Vanderburgh County Health Dept. Environmental Health Supervisor Dwayne Caldwell will give a special presentation on the dangers of radon gas in the home.

Special September TCH at Eastland Mall, Saturday, September 28, noon to 1:30 p.m.

Trade Mission to Japan
Mayor Winnecke will leave Sept. 5 to join Governor Mike Pence on visit to Japan to meet with business and civic leaders.
