6th grader Gabriella Bonner of Lincoln Elementary was honored today by the Community Action Program of Evansville and CAPE's Foster Grandparent Program. She was awarded a plaque at school.

CAPE says Gabriella demonstrates respect and perseverance, two attributes of Dr. King.

"It's just how my mom and dad teach me to be," said Gabriella. "I like to have friends, and I don't really care who my friends are."

Nathan Staley of West Terrace Elementary was also honored this morning. CAPE says it plans to make these awards an annual honor.
