Families Looking for Shelter after Calhoun Apartment Fire

Families are still scrambling to find a place to stay after a fire destroys their apartment complex in McLean County.
Families are still scrambling to find a place to stay after a fire destroys their apartment complex in McLean County. It happened early Saturday morning at Green River Apartments in Calhoun.

The Red Cross says most tenants are now staying with friends and family. However, some have no where to go.

Donations allow Daniel Hunt to stay at a motel through tomorrow.

"It just shows you how good people are," said Hunt. "And one of the Red Cross gentlemen that was there Saturday said that you do not get this kind of response out of your bigger cities. Just not like it is here."

The Red Cross says it will transfer Hunt tomorrow to a nearby homeless shelter.
