"Nothing like opening day in the NFL."
Jim Bretz is having a good day.
"we were up six to nothing. Probably should've been 14 to nothing, but the offense isn't playing as good as it should. The defense has
been playing great day though."
James Glover is too.
"I've got Drew Brees and he's not doing great. But I've got a few running backs and a few tight ends that are doing well."
In fact, it's a good day for football fans the first Sunday of the regular season. The first Sunday to watch, cheer, and spend.
"I'll probably spend 12 to 15 dollars today," Bretz says.
"Anywhere from 40 to 60 normally," says Glover.
"it's almost like Christmas to all NFL fans."
For Buffalo Wild Wings G.M. Harlan Taylor, opening week brings gifts of big crowds and big business, gifts he hopes keep coming all season. He says he expects a 5 to 10% increase in sales this season.
"We always try to increase sales over last year," he says. "Just based on our last year's sales, we're already strong ."
But just like the Colts and Bears, they must bring their a game every week.
"We try to make sure that we're staffed, that we're generating the best customer service possible, that we have almost every tv playing something different, just so we can capture the audience of our sports fans," Taylor adds.
And keep capturing them until the end of the season.
"I'm having a great time. Just hopes the offense can do better in the second half," Bretz says.
How big a deal is week one? Taylor says they opened early today due to a large crowd lining up outside waiting for them to open.
