Richie Farmer is sentenced to 27 months in prison.

Farmer, a former Kentucky basketball star, pleaded guilty to two counts of misappropriating government resources. He served two terms as state agriculture commissioner.

He was accused of using his employees to run errands, babysit his kids, and work on his home, even having a basketball court built in his backyard. A plea agreement scaled back the maximum sentence to 27 months.
