And then there were two. A public vote narrows the choices to top the new welcome to Evansville monument.

Two sculptures were chosen from a field of four. The two pieces are "Aerial Beauty"  by Bob Zasadny and "Evansville Flying Forward made by Charlotte Ann Paul. Local artists designed the sculptures.

The welcome sign is located along State Road 57, and serves as an important welcome mat for the city.

"It's really great as far as first impressions go," said Dianna Page of Evansville Regional Airport, "making the environment around the airport a more welcoming environment to all those travelers that are coming to EVV for the first time. It's going to make a huge difference."

The final announcement will be made this spring.
