Two former Purdue University students were not smart enough to pass their classes but were smart enough to make it look like they did.

The engineering students admitted to stealing keyboards from their professors' offices and installing key logging devices to learn passwords. That allowed them to break into accounts and change their grades.

One student changed nine F's and an incomplete to straight A's. The other changed a "D" to an "A."

The pair pleaded guilty to felony charges of computer tampering and will be sentenced in February.
