The streets have been packed all week, and a lot of it has to do with the beautiful weather we're having, just as we've expected. The West Side Nut Club tells Eyewitness News in past years when there has been rain, the attendance has been off one day and spike the next. But this year the weather has been steady and clear, and attendance has been up across the board.
"Judging from the weather forecast," said Tom Moore of West Side Nut Club, "also the kids are out of school tomorrow. So, tonight will be huge. Friday night will be huge. Saturday night will be great with the parade Saturday morning, and the parade Saturday night. We will have good days."
The West Side Nut Club says there is no real way of knowing how many people are actually here each day and night. But they say in years past, they have estimated good days have been anywhere between 30,000 and 40,000. And each day this week, they've considered to be good days.
