Carmi, IL. - A candidate for Illinois Governor makes a stop in the Tristate. The gubernatorial candidate, Dan Rutherford was at the Republican Party Headquarters in Carmi. This is just one of many planned visits for Rutherford , who currently serves as state treasurer. Rutherford spoke about pension reform among many other hot-button topics. He also said he's the only one that can un-seat the current governor.
"The polls out today show that I am the only Republican running for governor that can beat Pat Quinn! Add all of those things up-- I'm also the guy thats been in the private sector, been in the general assembly and I understand the diversity and complexity of what it's going to take to put more people back to work", said Rutherford.
Rutherford also held a meet-and-greet in Mount Carmel. He will make stops Monday Morning in Albion and Fairfield.
