The group, organized by churches, is urging prayer in public places. That's after organizers say a second grader at Spottsville Elementary was asked to stop praying by a teacher.
"She was praying for herself because of a bellyache," said Rev. Ernie Lingerfelt of Warehouse of Worship, "and we teach them in Sunday school and in church that that prayer works and God heals. When she was praying for her own healing, she was asked not to do that."
Organizers say they know the school system allows prayer in schools as long as it's not lead by an authority figure in class time.
The Kentucky's Department of Education says teachers: "Are prohibited from encouraging or discouraging prayer, from "witnessing" and from actively participating in such activities with students."
