Last minute shoppers are often considered procrastinators, but this year is a little different. Even the early bird didn't get the chance to hit the stores because of the winter weather. Now, with heavy rain on the way, it seems like shoppers just can't catch a break.
The holiday rush is on. Just days away from Christmas Tristate shoppers hit the stores for a last minute chance to get their gifts. "I've never seen our mall this packed, but we always do everything last minute, so we are kind of used to it."
Towne Square Mall in Owensboro is jammed packed with shoppers all hoping to get the things they need, before time runs out. "It stresses me out, but I do it every year," says Tara Claise. She says she waits every year and will probably do it again next holiday season. "Probably the same way, I'm not going to lie." any say it's not procrastination to blame, but the weather. Snow and ice covered the Tristate making it hard for shoppers to get what they needed. For, Amber Calloway, there was another reason putting her behind. "We just had a baby." She did most of her shopping online, but had to head to the mall tonight. "It's crazy, lines are way backed up, and there's people everywhere, and it's crazy."
Christmas is just days away, shoppers at Towne Square Mall leave you with this advice. "Good luck, I hope you get whatever you needed, and maybe next year you will start a little sooner."
