House with Four People Inside Explodes

Emergency crews are investigating a house explosion in Mount Vernon.

Posey County - Emergency crews are investigating a house explosion in the 3200 block of Highway 62 West in Mount Vernon. Once Fire Fighters arrived they found the home fully engulfed in flames. Four people were in the home at the time of the blast. One was immediately rushed to Saint Mary's Hospital and the other three were treated on site and released with non-life threatening injuries. Fire officials say they were battling more than just the fire.

"Weather is definately hampering us. All the rain we've had this evening and today is causing soggy conditions, especially with our heavy apparttus and working our way around the scene", said Chief Jay Price of the Black Township Fire Department.

Fire investigators are still not sure of what caused the explosion.
