INDOT officials meet at the Southwest Chmaber of Commerce, Friday, to announce Interstate 164 will be no more. By this time next year, it will become part of Interstate 69. It's a move officials say comes from public complaints and the general vicinity of the currently separate interstates.
INDOT Chief of Staff, Troy Woodruff says, "You get a little tired of tellign people get on 164 then get on 69 becuase it's the same so now you just say you knwo what...go down to the end of the Lloyd and hop on I-69 North and get going."
Officials say new signage at existing intersections will starting being installed in the spring.
