Officials say construction, which began in December, is a couple of weeks behind schedule. The project includes an improved meeting space, a new pavilion area, and the highly-anticipated immersion theater. The theater is inside the 40-foot dome.
"We think this is going to be a wonderful experience for not only Evansville but the surrounding community," said Evansville Museum Interim Director Mary Bower. "We expect a huge interest, and we've already heard about a huge interest in the new immersion theater."
Bower says the project is on pace to open in early February.
