Prosecutors are allowed to pursue life sentences for two people charged in the case. A judge ruled on the issue nearly three months after attorneys for Monserrate Shirley and Mark Leonard asked to eliminate the option.

Shirley, Leonard, and Leonard's brother Bob are charged in the November blast that killed two people and damaged dozens of homes.
