Dozens of Tri-Staters marched around University of Evansville's campus, and others gathered for a special annual luncheon at the University of Southern Indiana.
Actress Jasmine Guy was this year's keynote speaker. She's best known for playing southern belle Whitley Gilbert on "The Cosby Show" spinoff "A Different World."
She won six consecutive NAACP awards while on the show. In addition to her speech, she signed autographs and met with students.
"We all have in us the ability to facilitate change or stand up for justice," said Guy. "And it may not be a million people on the Washington Mall. It may be in our household."
There were also performances today by USI's Gospel choir, two groups of dancers, and a drumline.
