K9 Units Sniffing Out Cells in Daviess County Jail

Daviess County jailers are releasing the hounds in their search for contraband in the cells.
Daviess County jailers are releasing the hounds in their search for contraband in the cells. Several area K9 units searched the county detention center this morning looking for drugs and weapons. No items were found in the search.

It's the first time in about a year they've participated in an effort to keep the community safe.

"If we had an inmate in here get high, get rowdy, cause a fight, start fighting our deputies and our staff," said David Osborne, "if he's able to overcome a couple and make an escape, then we got a danger out in the community. "

Osborne says he hopes K9 units are able to search the detention center on a more regular basis.
