KY Ag. Commissioner Discusses Propane Shortage

Kentucky's Agriculture Commissioner makes a stop in Henderson to tout a state program and discuss the nation's propane shortage

Kentucky's Agriculture Commissioner makes a stop in Henderson to tout a state program and discuss the nation's propane shortage.

Commissioner James Comer says Kentucky's 'Ag tag' program allows famers to make a $10 dollar donation when they renew their farm license plates.  That money is split among two programs that help future farmers, Kentucky 4H and FFA.

But right now, those in the agriculture industry have to deal with the nation's propane shortage. The winter storms the last couple of weeks have delayed shipments of propane across the country. Many states including Kentucky have temporarily lifted the limits on how long truck drivers can work within a 24 hour period.

Comer says the propane shortage hits poultry, the state's largest crop, especially hard.
