The auto manufacturer will donate the cars to local, nonprofit organizations around the country, based on Facebook votes from the public.
Here in the Tri-State, the American Red Cross of Southwestern Indiana and Aurora are finalists. Each day, for 50 days, five organizations will be showcased on the Toyota Facebook page. Visitors will be able to vote for two of the featured groups, with the top two receiving a car.
The Red Cross and Aurora are among 250 finalists. The Red Cross, which continues to shelter, feed and provide emotional support for victims of disasters will be up for voting on Thursday, October 10th. Evansville-based, Aurora, which works to prevent and end homelessness will be up for voting on Saturday, October 12th. The website to cast votes on both of those days can be found by clicking here.
