An out of place sign is catching odd looks in Newburgh.
A building is being renovated on Water Street and neighbors say a "McDonald's" sign was bolted down in the front yard Saturday morning.
The owner of the building says a friend is playing a practical joke on her. The building, which was an old fish market, is being renovated into her home, not a McDonald's.
Still, neighbors are having fun with the joke.
"So many people that walk by this trail and there's hundreds each day say, what's that going to be? What's it going to be? What's it going to be? And she is just simply taking this home and refurbishing it. The people who put the McDonald's sign up, it was a good one," said Newburgh resident John Griese.
The owner of the building where the McDonald's sign sits did not want to speak on camera, but she says she hopes people don't take the sign seriously, and find some humor in the joke.
