An Evansville woman sentenced for her role in the death of her husband. Megan Mecum gets 55 years. She was convicted last month for the murder of Keith Vaughn.

Vaughn was stabbed to death in February of 2012. Prosecutors say Mecum, her boyfriend James Mayhugh, and Mayhugh's cousin Hubert killed Vaughn during a robbery attempt.

"She put this thing all in motion," said Deputy Prosecutor Michael Perry. "She put the whole plan in motion. She got the two guys to do her bidding, and the end result was what the end result was. And unfortunately they got caught, for them unfortunately."

Mecum turned down a plea bargain last Spring that would have allowed her to only serve a 25 year sentence in return for her testimony against the other two defendants in the case.
