Monumental Choices: Building a Welcome Sign in Evansville

You can vote for your favorite design to be the centerpiece of a monument planned at Evansville Regional Airport
Evansville officials break ground Friday on a new monument planned to welcome visitors to the river city. Keep Evansville beautiful is leading the push to build the new Welcome Monument at the entrance to Evansville Regional Airport.
The plan is for a 20 foot tall sculpture along State Road 57. Corporate sponsors have already donated 75% of the funds needed to build the monument.
Keep Evansville Beautiful President Marsha Dowell says, "When you leave this airport you'll know you've arrived. You'll see this beautiful monument and it will say 'Welcome to Evansville.'"
Four different sculptures are in the running to be the centerpiece of the monument, each designed by different artists. Scroll through the gallery on this page to view each sculpture plan, and click here to vote for your favorite. Voting will narrow the choices down to two sculptures, and the Keep Evansville Beautiful Board and EVV airport leaders will make the final selections.

Watch these clips where each artist explains their design.
