Muhlenberg Co. Home Destroyed in Morning Fire

Crews in Muhlenberg County battled a house fire in Beechmont.
It was a busy morning for firefighters around the Tri-State. Crews in Muhlenberg County battled a house fire in Beechmont.

Firefighters say it started around 4:30 a.m. in a garage. The flames then spread through the house.

The homeowner and his pet were able to get out unharmed.

"We're not sure how it may have started," said Assistant Chief Eugene Miller. "We can tell that the fire started in the right back corner of the garage, which is right next to the house. As fas as what started it, we're not going to know."

Fire investigators were on scene this afternoon.
