Neither Freezing Rain Nor Snow....

If you think a little, or a lot of snow is going to keep a local teacher from completing a marathon, think again. He just won't be doing it in person. Click to find out more.
My name is Bryant Mosbey, and I am a PE/Health teacher at
Thompkins Middle School here in Evansville. I was planning on going
down to Memphis tomorrow afternoon in order to run in the St. Jude
Marathon Saturday morning. With the forecast calling for major ice in
the Memphis area and snow/ice throughout the drive down and back, I
made the decision to cancel our trip.

Thanks to some amazing people at Ultimate Fit (running store on the
east side of Evansville), they have volunteered to host my marathon on
Saturday. The store opens at 9:00 a.m., and I am going to be running
my 26.2 miles on their treadmill (probably beginning sometime around
9:15-9:30). During my run, I will be collecting money for St. Jude. To
date, I have raised just over $5,500 and hope to have much more after
the completion of my running.

This is a cause that is near and dear to my heart. My wife's brother passed away at the age
of 2 1/2 after spending a great amount of time of his life at St.
Jude. I am also running in honor of a former student of mine, Amber
Hardin, who is a cancer survivor (also spent time at St. Jude).
