Pence signed an executive order today forming the Center for Education and Career Innovation. He says it will give students better workforce training.
In response to the announcement, a spokesman for the Department of Education issues this statement in part:
"Partnerships require communication. Unfortunately, Superintendent Glenda Ritz learned about the creation of this new agency through news reports, rather than from Governor Pence."
Governor Pence says his staff did inform Ritz's staff prior to today's announcement.
