The state's highest court has legalized gay marriages, ruling it unconstitutional to deny a marriage license to gay and lesbian couples.

Several county clerks have been issuing marriage licenses to gay and lesbian couples since August, but other clerks recently asked the courts to clarify the law and establish a uniform policy.
