One of the newest rides at fall festival could also be the most thrilling. ''Speed'' is it's name and many walking Franklin Street had an early look at the towering attraction.
Reactions ranged from anticipation and excitement, to anxiety and angst. Standing at 125 feet ''Speed'' is catching eyes and creating a buzz around The Fall Festival.
"It's generated a lot of hype and we haven't even started the festival yet," said Evansville Nut Club Member Mike Fetscher.
Some people aren't too sure about it.
"There's not enough money in the world for me to ride that," said Evansville man Ron Mullis.
However some are up to the challenge.
Ooh definitely, I'm probably going to ride it multiple times," said Zach Simms.
Those brave enough to strap in will enjoy a pretty nice view of Evansville. That is, until they are whipped back to Earth at break neck speed.
"The cars [...] start turning and spinning along with the whole rotation of the ride so it feels like you're going 80 miles per hour," said Danny Huston of North American Midway Entertainment.
"Speed" costs a little bit extra to ride. It requires a wristband plus two ride tickets.
