Snowden has been living in Russia for the last few months to avoid espionage charges after he leaked information about the NSA surveillance program.

The New York Times says while Snowden did break the law , he "did the country a great service." The Times thinks Obama should grant him clemency.

And The Guardian in Great Britain says giving classified information was "an act of courage."
