Officials Pushing to Keep Casinos Open for 24 Hours a Day

Riverboat casinos in Illinois want to remain open for business around the clock. The Illinois Gaming Association is asking state regulators for approval to operate 24 hours a day. Casinos are currently open no more than 22 hours.

The Gaming Association says 24 hour operations would raise revenue for the casinos and the state and create jobs. However, opponents say it would create more problems for compulsive gamblers.
