It started just before 9 p.m., when a protective breaker failed at a substation off Old Hartford Rd. Many residents reported seeing a fireball shoot into the sky.

OMU Spokeswoman Sonya Dixon says workers are still surveying the extent of the damage. Power was restored after about an hour and a half.
