It looks like the Texas Gas building in Owensboro won't become a new Career and Tech Center.
It looks like the Texas Gas building in Owensboro won't become a new Career and Tech Center.

Owensboro Public School Superintendent Nick Brake says they're now looking at building a new two story building behind Owensboro High School. Construction would cost anywhere from $5 million to $8 million.

Brake says it'd cost $350,000 a year to operate the school and millions more to renovate the site on Frederica St.

"We have partners that are interested," said Brake, "but partners that are unwilling to commit to the financial commitment. We need to make the numbers work to renovate that space."

Brake says they're still looking at other ways to use the old Texas Gas site.
