The Evansville branch of the NAACP has announced a new partnership with an Indianapolis-based group called "Students First." They spoke with parents tonight about school performance and picking the right school for their kids.
The NAACP also stressed the importance of the community working together to better prepare students for the future.
"I'm wanting the program," said NAACP President Rev. Gerald Arnold, "to bring parents, students, education, faculty all together as one family to tend to the needs of the individual."
Rev. Arnold says it is important for parents to be motivators in order for their children to succeed.
