Origional Cheerios Going Non-GMO

General Mills announced it will no longer use genetically modified ingredients to make its original Cheerios cereal.
Some changes to a popular breakfast cereal. General Mills announced it will no longer use genetically modified ingredients to make its original Cheerios cereal.

While the oats used in the manufacturing of Cheerios have never contained any genetically modified organisms, known as GMO's, the company now uses non-GMO pure cane sugar instead of beet sugar.

The change does not apply to any other Cheerios flavors, such as Apple Cinnamon Cheerios or Multi-Grain Cheerios.
