The city council voted Monday to approve plans to change the name of a less than a mile stretch of road near Historic Bosse Field.
Plans for the 'Don Mattingly Way' are moving forward. The city council voted Monday to approve plans to change the name of a four-tenths of a mile stretch near Historic Bosse Field. Bix Branson, Vice President of the Evansville Otters, said the team's address will be the only one that will change because it is the only business in the area.
"It means a lot to the Otters because of who Don Mattingly is," Branson said. "And really what he's done for Evansville. Not only is he, to me, the most famous baseball player to come out of Evansville, but he's been long associated with youth baseball and supporting youth baseball."
Branson said he is most excited about the signs going up.
"And then we'll pass it and turn right into our parking lot and go to work everyday," Branson said.
