Owensboro Church Members Select New Site

Members of an Owensboro church that burned down last year look to return home in the coming years. First Christian Church members voted to build their new house of worship at the site of their old one on 7th St. and Daviess St.

The church was destroyed last Spring after severe thunderstorms went through the region. Pastor Jake Caldwell says they could have a design of the new church completed later this year.

"A lot of our members feel an attachment to this particular location," said Pastor Caldwell. "It's not just about the fact that we've been at this location for a long time, but a lot of people that we serve still live in this area. So, we feel that it was important to be near those people."

Church members have been worshiping at Third Baptist in Owensboro since last Spring's fire.
