The Institute for Aerospace Education met with Owensboro Public Schools and Regional Airport officials today. They want to bring aviation classes to the schools, where students can learn how to be a pilot or an engineer.
"They've got a great airport, great facilities," said Tim Smith of Institute for Aerospace Education. "Our standard is our schools partner with the local airports, so when you have a great local airport in your area, it's a great partnership."
Smith says more than 20 school districts across Kentucky already participate in the program.
