Indiana State Police say just after 11:00 Tuesday night, dispatch received reports of a domestic disturbance with shots fired in the 100 block of South Bluff Street in Winslow.
When Troopers arrived, they say the found Christopher Morton, 32, in the kitchen holding a handgun in one hand and a beer in the other. Troopers say they were forced to tase morton to get him to drop his weapon.
After searching the rest of the house, Troopers found Kelsie McDonald, 24, shot and unconscious. She was taken to Jasper Memorial Hospital where she died.
Troopers say McDonald's three year old daughter was home at the time of the shooting. She was not hurt and is now with family.
Morton is being held without bond in the Pike County Jail.
