Plane Makes Emergency Landing on Ohio River

The plane suffered from some sort of equipment failure that caused the craft to take on water once it landed.
A small airplane had to make an emergency landing on the Ohio River this morning.

It happened near Luce Township which is in eastern Spencer County, Indiana.

Spencer County Dispatch tells Eyewitness News the plane suffered from some sort of equipment failure that caused the craft to take on water once it landed.

The now water submerged plane was disabled.

Around 10:25 AM, Spencer County received a 911 call that there was a plane was sinking in the river. Several agencies were dispatched to the scene, including EMA, Water Rescue, Luce Township Fire Department, and even the Coast Guard.

The plane was safely recovered and taken to shore where the uninjured, but slightly water-logged, owner was waiting.
