An Evansville police officer will wait longer to see if he keeps his job or not. The Police Merit Commission will meet November 15, to decide the fate of Officer Steve Hicks. The commission originally planned to decide on November 4, but pushed it back due to a scheduling conflict.
The 2012 Oficer of the Yar faced a formal complaint after people say he acted inappropriately towards a woman working at Rick's 718 Bar in September. He was suspended at the beginning of the month, and Chief Billy Bolin recommends he be fired.
Hicks will receive his paycheck until that hearing on November 15 decides if he will lose his job or be returned to duty.
