A Southern Indiana law maker introduces a bill that could lead to the legal production of hemp in the Hoosier State.

Democrat State Senator Richard Young of Milltown says his bill would allow the Indiana Department of Agriculture to license growing and production of the plant for industrial use.  The Senate Agriculture Committee is scheduled to hear the bill next week.

In 2013 Kentucky legalized hemp production in the Commonwealth, but farmers will not be able to grow the plants until the Federal Government lifts its ban.
