Search For Evansville's Christmas Tree Begins

We're right in the middle of the Fall Festival, and Halloween is still a few weeks away, but Evansville city officials are already in search of some holiday cheer, in the form of the city's official Christmas tree.
We're right in the middle of the Fall Festival, and Halloween is still a few weeks away, but Evansville city officials are already in search of some holiday cheer, in the form of the city's official Christmas tree.

The tree will be on display at the Civic Center throughout the Holiday Season.

This year's tree will be selected on the following criteria:

  • Must be a Spruce or Fir tree
  • Must be 20-feet-tall or taller
  • Tree must be accessible for safe removal
  • Tree must be within city limits of Evansville or within Vanderburgh County

The selected tree will be removed from the owner’s property at no cost, however, the owner will be responsible for removal of the stump.  Additionally, the family who submits the selected tree will be featured at the Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony in November.

You can nominate your tree two ways.

Send an email to: pickmytree@evansville.in.gov with your name (or the name of the property owner, if you do not own the property), day and evening phone numbersthe address where the tree is located, a photo of the nominated tree showing the tree’s trunk, and description of the tree and any special history you want to share.

Or, call 436-4962 to provide the information about your tree and make arrangements to share your photos.
