Those votes came after hard fought negotiations between Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and eight Republican Senators.

These talks are centered on finding ways to pay for renewing benefits that expired in December.

It could cost anywhere from $6 billion to $25 billion, depending on how long the benefits would be extended.
