St. Mary's Cuts the Ribbon on New Epworth Crossing Center

Breast cancer patients now able to get treatment in a larger facility. St. Mary's celebrates the completion of it's new Epworth Crossing Center.

The new facility is located at the Lloyd Expressway and Epworth Rd. Epworth Crossing is a new, comprehensive outpatient center. The $18 million project originally broke ground back in 2012.

St. Mary's Spokeswoman Laura Forbes says the Hospital's Wellness Center and Breast Center will both move from the main campus on Washington to the new, bigger space.

"We had really outgrown that space," said Forbes, "and so this gives us much more space to accommodate all of our patient needs and to have the latest equipment to be able to detect breast cancer as early as possible and save more lives. And that's what it's all about."

Forbes says most of the facility will be open for patients next Monday.
