Standoff Causes Problems For School Buses

Evansville Police are involved in a standoff in the 1500 block of Alvord Blvd. As a result, the EVSC says school buses are unable to pick up students in that area.
UPDATE: Evansville Police say the standoff is now a death investigation and the Coroner has been called to the scene.  Officers tell our Tabnie Dozier they believe the person at the center of the standoff took their own life.  We are continuing to follow this story and will bring you updates as they become available.

PREVIOUS: Evansville Police are involved in a standoff in the 1500 block of Alvord Blvd.  As a result, the EVSC says school buses are unable to pick up students in that area.  This is in the Dexter Elementary district.  Officials say parents in this area will need to take their kids to the school.  We have a crew on the scene and will bring you updates as they become available.
