Starbucks Filing Petitions to Reopen the Government

A new way to express opinions about the government shutdown and get coffee at the same time
A new way to express opinions about the government shutdown and get coffee at the same time. Starbucks is putting petitions in its 11,000 locations across the country and right here in the Tri-State.

The petition asks officials to reopen the government, pay national debts on time, and pass a long-term budget deal by the end 2013.

"I think that our representatives need to get back to work," said Lori Salma of Evansville. "We need to reopen the government and stop throwing our federal employees under the bus, veterans and the economy under the bus. We need to come to a solid conclusion about which direction our country is gonna be headed."

The petitions aren't just happening at a local level. Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz is asking other CEO's to sign a petition asking for the government to be reopened too.
