Substations Explodes in Owensboro, Thousands without Power

An explosion in Owensboro.
UPDATE (10:31 P.M.): OMU officials say power has been restored.

PREVIOUS:
An explosion in Owensboro. You can hear zapping in this video sent by Jesse Girten.

A substation blew up near Kelly Lane and Old Hartford Rd. It happened at about 9 p.m.

Several viewers tell us the blast was felt around the city. We haven't heard of any injuries at this point. We're unsure of a cause at this time.

Our crew on scene tells us the fire has been extinguished, but first responders are still there. OMU reports 2,000 customers are now without power
