Target changing its tune on how much hackers stole. The retailer now says debit pin numbers were stolen. This reverses its statement made yesterday that data wasn't recorded.

A target spokeswoman says the pins are "strongly encrypted" and are secure. She says they can only be decoded with a key held by an independent payment processor, and that key is not missing.

The retailer has tripled its staff assisting with customer call centers. 40 million people had their credit and debit info stolen while shopping at Target.
