The first recall affects the Toyota Highlander Hybrid and Lexus RX 400H vehicles. Transistors in these models can suffer heat damage, which causes the car to shut down while a driver is behind the wheel.
The second recall affects Lexus IS 350, IS 350C, and GS 350 vehicles. In these models, the bolts used to fasten a timing control device can become loose, causing the vehicle to stop while being driven.
Toyota says they will notify vehicle owners by mail.
