Tree Farms Recovering After Winter Storms Affect Sales

Tri-State Christmas tree nurseries are recovering from a slump in sales after last week's winter weather.

Bobbi Jo Seib, co-owner of Country Barn near Princeton, said the second weekend after Thanksgiving is usually one of their busiest times of the year. Last year they sold about 150 trees. Last weekend, Seib said they only sold 50.

Seib said the ice made it difficult for workers because it makes the trees twice as heavy.

But, since the weather has improved, Seib said they've seen steady sales.
