Tri-State Prepares for Approaching Winter Storm

Some Tri-Staters are already hitting stores, making sure they have enough supplies for upcoming snow and cold air.  Evansville is getting ready, and so are people across the Tri-State. Hardware and grocery stores are expected to be busy with shoppers getting supplies.

"Bring it on, Mother Nature."

Another week, another winter storm. Another challenge for Tri-Staters to conquer. With several inches of snow and several days of cold headed our way, shoppers are answering the challenge.

"People are actually buying generators as well, because they are worried about, a few years back, with the ice storm taking lines down so people are buying generators just in case power goes out," says Home Depot manager Jake Wolbert. He adds sales of salt, shovels, and heaters have picked up. He expects crowds to build up as more Tri-Staters make sure they're geared up.

"I'll be packing a lot of wood for the wood burner, try to get Christmas lights down when we have 40 degree weather," says Kenny Paul of Newburgh. Despite some concerns, shoppers say they'll be prepared for another round of snow and cold, and ready for another season.

"Bring it on," Paul says. "I don't live far from work. That's winter in Southern Indiana, got to take the good with the bad, and, before long, we'll be griping about how hot it is."
